OUR PARTNERSHIP

At VOTUM Care our residents come first in everything we do. This gives a sense of belonging and turn our houses into homes.

We are guided by the principle of partnership in the Children Act 1989, which embraces values such as participation / involvement in everything that concerns or defines who you are as a person such as:

The presentation of your living space.

Career  and college choices

Favourite pass times

Celebrating significant days such as birthdays and Christmas.

Day to day running of your home.

Your beliefs and cultural values.

Working in partnership with other agencies such as social workers

Regular house meetings

Our Homes

Our homes are semi-independent units located in safe and carefully selected communities. They are designed and furnished to be homely providing the young persons with a homely and welcoming environment. It is important to us that the young person is comfortable. Upon moving in the young people are encouraged to personalise their individual rooms.

The accommodation has been individually engineered to ensure that they each provide the young person with a secure structured, supportive and nurturing environment which encourages them  to reflect on their past, come to terms with their current situation and make positive plans for their future.

They are ideally located close to local amenities such as educational facilities, GP’s and dentist practices, together with a large range of local services for young people; with a number of accessible leisure activities. In addition, our homes are within convenient reach to mainline public transportation links.

Each home has a private meeting room where young people can meet with their parents and professionals in a private environment. They are also encouraged to have friends and family visit them where it is appropriate.

Promoting Independence

In order to fully prepare young people for independent adulthood we provide a holistic approach to their support. This allows us to look at and support them with other skills that they need in order to become fully active members of modern-day society. Amongst the skills we look at and assist with, are driving, positive technology use, budgeting and

household management.

College & Education

It is a fact that young people with qualifications get better opportunities in society. For this reason, we encourage our young people to get suitable qualifications to help them progress in their chosen career paths. While the young people attend college or other educational institute, we put in place support systems that help them become worry-free of their welfare so they can maximise their chances of success in their studies
